The research at the Gao Lab focuses on highly sensitive single-cell proteomics and multi-omics methods to detect and investigate cancer heterogeneity and biomarkers. The methods developed by the Gao Lab could be used to characterize a single circulating tumor cell and perform liquid biopsy with ultra-high sensitivity. These methods will help us obtain better biomarkers with diagnostic and prognostic value, thereby enhancing our ability to predict and prevent cancer development and metastasis.
