Clinical Trials Fund
Clinical trials are research studies that test how well new medical approaches will work in the patient population. Each trial answers scientific questions and seeks to find better ways to prevent, screen for, diagnose, or treat a disease. Investigator-initiated clinical trials are expensive and can cost in the hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars range. With philanthropic support, the University of Illinois Cancer Center aims to open more clinical trials, increase the number of patients who choose to participate, and successfully test the value of new treatments so that they can ultimately benefit more people.
University of Illinois Cancer Center Community Engagement and Health Equity Fund
From critical prevention measures, such as early screening, detection, and education, to survivorship support of cancer patients and their families, University of Illinois Cancer Center’s outreach programs are key to securing the long-term health and well-being of the community it serves. Using an integrated population health and health disparities framework, the University of Illinois Cancer Center Community Engagement and Health Equity Office (CEHE) works to decrease cancer burden and increase access across the cancer care continuum. Philanthropic funding is critical to the success of our community programming.
