Leukemia Research Foundation funding opportunities that may be of interest to University of Illinois Cancer Center members.


New Investigator Research Grant Program

  • Application: 04/25/25
  • Purpose: The Leukemia Research Foundation provides grants of up to $150,000 over a 2-year period for new investigator (within 7 years of first independent faculty-level position) research projects that will have an impact on leukemia. MDS proposals will also be accepted. Funds can cover up to $7,500 in equipment purchases, $3,000 for research travel, and do not cover salary support for the PI or indirect costs. Applicants with any active single grant (or multiple grants added together) that total $175K or greater in total direct costs per year are not eligible (excluding KO8, R00, R99 grant awards).

The University of Illinois Cancer Center has approval to pursue the following grant opportunities from private funders through its Advancement team. As a Cancer Center member, please notify and work with Jane Erb ([email protected]) and her Advancement team if you have an interest in any of the following current opportunities or would like further information. The Advancement team will provide grant development support and handle submissions as awards count toward the Cancer Center’s philanthropic goals.
