The Young and A Survivor (YAAS!) Network hosted a discussion last week on how to create and sustain robust academic-community partnerships to expand healthcare capacity using a practice-based Virtual Knowledge Network. Attendees were able to connect with others who are working to bring high quality cancer survivorship resources to all communities. University of Illinois Cancer Center members Susan Hong, MD, MPH, director of survivorship, and V.K. Gadi, MD, PhD, associate director, Translational Oncology, were among those who participated in the virtual event.
Established in 2019, YAAS! is a network of healthcare providers, community-based organizations, young survivors, and metastatic thrivers working together to bring resources and services to young women affected by breast cancer and their loved ones. It is supported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Cooperative Agreement NU58DP006674.
