Dr. Sandeep Jain is a Professor of Ophthalmology in the UIC Department of Ophthalmology. His translational research focus is on reducing ocular surface complications in cancer survivors (following bone marrow transplantation) and performing mechanistic studies to identify biomarkers and clinical trials for new therapeutics. Dr. Jain is also the Principal Investigator on a NEI Translational Research Program (TRP) on Therapy for Visual Disorders R24 Grant. Dr. Jain’s research has led to numerous patent awards, NEI/NIH grants, funding from UIC Chancellor’s Innovation Fund (CIF) Proof of Concept Awards program, Physician Scientist award from Research to Prevent Blindness and Inventor of the Year from UIC. After receiving his medical degree, Dr. Jain completed his residency training in Ophthalmology at the Harkness Eye Institute at Columbia University, New York, followed by subspecialty fellowship in Corneal Diseases at the Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary/Harvard Medical School.
