Stroger Medical Center.

Dr. Schmidt leads a team of multi-disciplinary practitioners who are dedicated to excellence in clinical care, research, and education. Their efforts are geared towards benefiting young people with serious and even life-threatening hematologic or oncologic disorders.

While caring for these patients and their families, they conduct high quality research that will impact their current patients as well as patients in the future. They train the next generation of physicians, hematologists/oncologists, nurses, doctors of pharmacy, dentists, and public health practitioners. Through all of these efforts, they seek to cure those patients that they can, manage the health and well-being of those patients that can’t be cured and reduce the suffering for all.
