Dr. Guido Pauli is a Norman R. Farnsworth Professor of Pharmacognosy in the Department of Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacognosy at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Pharmacy. He is also the Associate Director of the Institute for Tuberculosis Research and Director of the Program for Collaborative Research in the Pharmaceutical Sciences. His research is focused on the advanced chemical characterization of complex intervention agents and tuberculosis.

Dr. Pauli’s academic teaching, training, and mentoring experience spans four International Schools of Pharmacy and 20+ years in graduate education, as advisor, mentor, instructor, and in academic administrative functions, serving a diverse population of students and trainees.

He has also been providing service to their Pharmacognosy Graduate Program as Head (since 2014), Director of Graduate Studies (DGS, 2009-2012) and Alternate DGS (2005-2008), which broadened his expertise in curriculum and course management, student advising, and program administration.

While at UIC, reflecting his educational/ training commitment, he has been main advisor to 18 Ph.D. students and 20 postdoctoral fellows who now hold positions in industrial, regulatory, and academic settings.

His research is focused on the advanced chemical characterization of complex intervention agents and tuberculosis.
