Ana Maria Avila Rodriguez, MD, is Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of Hematology and Oncology at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Chicago and a physician at UI Health who specializes in the treatment of patients with plasma cell disorders, such as multiple myeloma and amyloidosis. Her academic passion has focused on the impact of the immune system in myeloma development, response to therapy and remission. Her research has focused on evaluating the tumor immune microenvironment using a multi-omic approach (CITE-seq) of multiple myeloma patients in remission on maintenance therapy with immunomodulatory drugs. She is also interested in health disparities in malignant hematology.
