Ahmad Daher, MD, PhD, is Chair of the University of Illinois Cancer Center Protocol Review Committee (PRC). The PRC, in cooperation with the UIC Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and the Office for the Protection of Research Subjects, provides for scientific review of all UIC cancer-related protocols. In addition to his leadership role at the Cancer Center, he is Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology and Rehabilitation at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Chicago and a neuro-oncologist who practices at UI Health managing the care of patients with various primary brain tumors. His research interests include performing high-throughput screening on glioma samples followed by pan-molecular profiling to establish drug/drug class-specific resistance and sensitivity markers; molecular characterization of primary brain tumors in underserved minority groups; characterization of circularing biomarkers in glioma patients; and growing the brain tumor clinical trial portfolio. His clinical interests include finding unique targeted therapies, immunotherapy and clinical trial options for all patients.
