Where to Give

When you give to the University of Illinois Cancer Center, you can make an impact in your own way by donating to a specific fund.

Cancer Center Unrestricted Fund

Make a gift to support innovative discovery and provide immediate support of our most critical needs.

Cancer Center Research Fund

Gifts in support of research enhance dynamic, collaborative, and interdisciplinary cancer research focusing on University of Illinois Cancer Center priority areas, and allow for the advancement and expansion of scientific findings that impact the population we serve. Our researchers and physician-scientists make a significant impact in the field of basic, clinical and translational, and population-based cancer research, stimulating a high return on investment.

Gifts in support of research may also be designated toward a specific cancer type, a particular researcher, or to support our Cancer Health Equity research. Existing research funds include:

  • Brain Cancer Research Fund
  • Breast Cancer Research Fund
  • Experimental Cancer Therapeutics Research Fund
  • Lung Cancer Research Fund
  • Melanoma Research Fund
  • Oncology Graft Versus Host Disease Research Fund

Clinical Trials Fund

Clinical trials are research studies that test how well new medical approaches will work in the patient population. Each trial answers scientific questions and seeks to find better ways to prevent, screen for, diagnose, or treat a disease. Investigator-initiated clinical trials are expensive and can cost in the hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars range. With philanthropic support, the University of Illinois Cancer Center aims to open more clinical trials, increase the number of patients who choose to participate, and successfully test the value of new treatments so that they can ultimately benefit more people.

University of Illinois Cancer Center Community Engagement and Health Equity Fund

From critical prevention measures, such as early screening, detection, and education, to survivorship support of cancer patients and their families, University of Illinois Cancer Center’s outreach programs are key to securing the long-term health and well-being of the community it serves. Using an integrated population health and health disparities framework, the University of Illinois Cancer Center Community Engagement and Health Equity Office (CEHE) works to decrease cancer burden and increase access across the cancer care continuum. Philanthropic funding is critical to the success of our community programming.
