Today, Sept. 24, is World Cancer Research Day, an initiative originally designed to contribute to the objectives of the World Cancer Declaration in promoting cancer research and keeping its momentum going. It aims to accomplish the scientific advances that will lead towards achieving the goal that brings everyone together: to defeat cancer. The World Declaration for Research on Cancer calls for the active involvement of citizens, entities, institutions and leaders of various areas to join efforts to promote research in order to reduce the number of people who develop cancer and to improve survival rates and quality of life among cancer patients.
