Spill the Tea on Nutrition and Cancer

The University of Illinois Cancer Center, UI Health, survivorship groups and community partners came together to host a “Spill the Tea on Nutrition and Cancer” event for community members and cancer survivors.

The early October event provided education on the importance of nutrition for cancer prevention and during cancer treatment. Attendees took part in a nutrition class offered in both English and Spanish, a wellness class for deep breathing, and they received a bag of nutritious food to address food insecurity.

The event was hosted by Advocates for Community Wellness, ELLAS, Illinois Nutrition Education Programs (INEP), UI Health Social Work Department, UI Health Survivorship Program,  Program in Rehabilitation Sciences and the Center for Food Equity in Medicine.
