The deadline to register for the 2020 Komen Speak Truth to Power Conference and Advocacy Summit is Friday, March 13. The event will be held June 7-10 at the Crystal Gateway Marriott, 1700 Richmond Highway, Arlington, Virginia. Following the conference, attendees will participate in the Komen Advocacy Summit.
Through the “Speak Truth to Power Conference: Advocating to Achieve Health Equity,” Komen will convene African-American community health advocates to learn about the role of public policy and advocacy in reducing breast cancer disparities and the importance of engaging in these efforts. Susan G. Komen is the world’s largest breast cancer organization, funding more breast cancer research than any other nonprofit outside of the federal government while providing real-time cancer research than any other nonprofit outside of the federal government, while providing real-time help to those facing the disease. Komen has set a Bold Goal to reduce the current number of breast cancer deaths by 50% in the U.S. by 2026.
