After working as a government contractor studying decision making in complex real-world environments (military, intelligence analysis, healthcare) for 10 years, she transitioned to academia to focus her research on patient-centered topics. Her primary research focus is on understanding patient cognitive and behavioral work across the breast cancer care continuum to inform human-centered support solutions. In her work she uses mixed-methods approaches that include Cognitive Task Analysis, naturalistic observations, surveys, and usability.
