A 4-month-old stray kitten rescued by University of Illinois Cancer Center staff preparing for last weekend’s inaugural 5K Walk/Run at UIC’s Curtis Granderson Stadium has been named in honor of the former Major League Baseball player and UIC Athletics Hall of Fame inductee.
Feline Curtis Granderson, now the unofficial mascot of the Cancer Center, has been adopted by Cancer Center Assistant Director for Marketing and Communications Courtney Colvin and her husband. In his new forever home, Curtis has two feline siblings, Elvis and Baltar.
