Garcia-Bedoya specializes in adult medicine, particularly in diabetes, hypertension, chronic disease management and women’s preventive health. She also serves as Medical Director for the Institute for Minority Health Research (IMHR) at the University of Illinois Chicago, where she oversees standardized clinical examinations and biospecimen collection for large-scale National Institutes of Health (NIH)-funded research projects.
