- Purpose: To provide young physicians with the resources to become clinical investigators. Supports clinical research projects in 1) patient-oriented research, 2) epidemiologic and behavioral studies, or 3) outcomes research and health services research. Will retire up to $100,000 of the investigator’s medical school debt. Investigator must commit 80% of their time to research and research career development. Awardees will have access to NIH’s Clinical Center. Grant funds up to $600,000 over three years (no indirect costs allowed). Scientific and budgetary overlap are not allowed. Physician-Scientist Training Award
- Application Date: 12/2/2024
- Purpose: This opportunity provides $460,000 over four years to support protected research training experience under the guidance of a mentor for early career physician scientists (defined as having no more than 3 years of post-doctoral laboratory research experience). Applicant should have 80% protected time for the duration of the award. Funder will retire up to $100,000 in medical school debt. No budget or scientific overlap with other funding sources is allowed. Additional restrictions apply.
