The National Cancer Institute is currently accepting applications for its Pathway to Independence Award (K99/R00) for early stage postdocs with less than two years of experience. Two new grants (RFA-CA-19-029 and RFA-CA-19-030) are currently available. Institutions may submit a combined total of up to three applications (one in data science, one in cancer control science and one in “other sciences”), as defined in both RFAs. Applications are due Feb. 26. A nomination letter is required; however, preliminary data is not.
The Pathway to Independence Award supports outstanding postdoctoral researchers who do not require extended periods of mentored research training beyond their doctoral degrees prior to transitioning to research independence. It is designed to suit the career paths of postdoctoral fellows in data science and cancer control science.
