Sang-Oh Yoon, PhD, is Associate Professor in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. His research focuses on biochemically and molecularly decoding cancer cell signaling, with a particular emphasis on the PI3K/AKT/mTOR and RAS/RAF/ERK pathways, which cancer cells use to resist environmental stress and promote progression. The Yoon Lab believes their research on cancer signaling will identify potential strategies to target cancer and to increase the efficacy of current cancer therapies.
