Jun Sun, PhD, is Professor in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at UIC. Her key achievements include characterization of vitamin D receptor regulation of intestinal barrier and microbiome in inflammation and cancer; identification of dysbiosis and intestinal dysfunction in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis; and characterization of bacteria in regulating intestinal stem cells and leading to cancer.
