Jae-Won Shin, PhD

Jae-Won Shin, PhD, is Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Regenerative Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Chicago. His lab is interested in understanding how cells build and remodel their environments in physiology and disease. The team is pursuing multidisciplinary approaches to understand fundamentals in the physical biology of regenerative processes and to leverage these insights by precisely directing donor cells and modulating the host response to treat tissue injury, degeneration, fibrosis and cancer. Target organs include the bone marrow, bones and lungs.
