Hongjin Li, PhD, is Assistant Professor in the Department of Human Development Nursing Science at the UIC College of Nursing. She joined UIC in 2019. She has multidisciplinary training and research experience in oncology, symptom science, omics, acupuncture intervention and biostatistics. She is Principal Investigator on the FAB study, designed to test the feasibility of implementing an acupuncture intervention in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and oncology clinic for breast cancer survivors. The goal is to facilitate the widespread implementation, dissemination and sustained utilization of acupuncture for symptom management among medically underserved breast cancer survivors receiving endocrine therapy in FQHCs nationwide. She also is Co-Investigator on a grant funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) focused on reducing disparities in survival and quality of life due to race, ethnicity and other social determinants of health among young breast cancer survivors in Chicago.
