Geri Donenberg, PhD, is Professor of Medicine and Psychology in the Department of Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Chicago. Her focus is patient-oriented research, epidemiological and behavioral studies, and health services research. She is Director of the UIC Center for Dissemination and Implementation Science and the UIC lead for a National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI) UH3/UG3 demonstrating the feasibility, effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of electronically delivered smoking cessation interventions via patient portals in Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) settings. The program, MiQuit Care, at the UI Health Mile Square Health Center FQHC has the potential for widespread dissemination and significant public health impact on patient populations with demonstrated high rates of smoking.
