Pyroptosis is an acute form of cell death. While its dysfunction may be expected to be relevant to tumor growth, its hyper activation can have direct and therapeutic use in killing cancer cells. The research of Gary Mo, PhD, into the basic biochemistry of pyroptosis help us understand how best to utilize and treat such a double-edged sword.
