Hoskins Oncology Service Line Director

University of Illinois Cancer Center member Kent Hoskins, MD, has been appointed Oncology Service Line Medical Director at UI Health.

In this role, Hoskins is the executive leader responsible for creating and implementing business plans at the University of Illinois Hospital & Clinics and the Cancer Center to grow oncology services across the UI Health enterprise. Reporting both to Cancer Center Director Jan Kitajewski, PhD, and Hospital & Clinics Chief Medical Officer Jon Radosta, MD, FACP, Hoskins will develop and drive oncology care strategies to advance excellence in care for patients with cancer at UI Health.

About Oncology Service Line Director

Hoskins has been a part of the faculty at the University of Illinois College of Medicine since 2012. He is the associate chief of the Division of Hematology/Oncology and has served as the medical director of the Hematology/Oncology Clinic for the past 10 years. A medical oncologist specializing in hereditary breast and ovarian cancers, he also established the Familial Breast Cancer Clinic. Throughout his career he has been involved in research on hereditary cancer and the clinical care of women with inherited risk of breast and ovarian cancer. A principal investigator on numerous studies funded by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), the American Cancer Society and other grants, Hoskins has published scores of peer-reviewed and other articles.

Hoskins’ experience and commitment to cancer care excellence continues to support the mission of the Cancer Center and UI Health and will help us achieve the goal of NCI designation.
