UIC Global Health Colloquium
Register now for the UIC Global Health Colloquium, taking place February 5 at Noon. The speaker will be Nelson Chao, MD, MBA, a Research Professor of Global Health at the Duke Global Health Institute, and Founder of ICCARE (International Cancer Care and Research Excellence Foundation).
Chao’s presentation is titled “Global Cancer: Delivering Cancer Care in Tanzania.”
His research interests have focused on clinical and immunological studies in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, and in the development of innovative immunotherapies for blood cancers. He is also a leader in global oncology and has led studies on radiation injuries after nuclear accidents, as well as on HPV cervical cancer in Brazil, and Burkitt’s lymphoma in Tanzania.
This event is open to all UIC students, faculty and staff.
The UIC Global Health Colloquium is a lecture series co-sponsored by the School of Public Health and the Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Applied Health Sciences, Pharmacy, Dentistry and Social Work.
