Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night
At the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Light The Night all are welcomed to gather as a community to celebrate, honor and remember those touched by blood cancers.
Friends, families, schools, corporate teams and sponsors join together to bring light to the darkness of cancer.
The funds raised will fund lifesaving research, advocacy and support for blood cancer patients and their families. All registered participants who raise $100+ on their individual fundraising page will receive a t-shirt that can be picked up at the walk.
Kattie Czopkiewicz, BSN, RN, a Leukemia/Hematology Oncology Nurse Navigator at UI Health, has attended the Light the Night event for the last 11 years. She came on board with the oncology clinic last year and is helping to lead UI Health’s Light the Night team this year!
LLS is at the forefront of the fight to cure cancer. Compared to other blood cancer nonprofits, LLS is the largest funder of cutting-edge research to advance cures. They have invested nearly $1.7 billion in research. They are leaders in advancing breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine. This research saves lives. These revolutionary new treatments originally discovered through blood cancer research are now being tested in clinical trials for other cancers.
