Engage to Empower Webinar

The University of Illinois Cancer Center Office of Faculty Development and Leadership and the Office of Community Outreach and Engagement invite you to attend Engage to Empower, a webinar series designed to support our community of cancer researchers.

Our second webinar will focus on how our community of cancer researchers (including early-career faculty) can utilize data from the Cancer Center’s Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) surveys (2019, 2021, and 2023) to support first-author publications and generate pilot data for grant applications. These surveys feature robust datasets collected from communities across Cook County.

This free virtual event will provide an overview of the CHNA datasets and how they can be used to explore key cancer-related topics, including screening behaviors, risk factors and local health priorities. Attendees will gain access to:

  • Geo-coded neighborhood-level data
  • Information on health trends and burdens across Cook County
  • Locally defined catchment areas
  • Insights to inform research proposals and publications

The CHNA is conducted every two years and is designed to better understand health-related needs in our region. Data collected in collaboration with local community organizations are available in English and Spanish.

We look forward to your participation in this informative session as we continue to build up and support an inclusive community of cancer researchers.

IMPORTANT: The webinar link will be shared in your registration confirmation email.
