Abiola Ibraheem, MD is the liaison between ASCO international association council and the newly created sub-Saharan Africa regional council. She is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Hematology/Oncology at the University of Illinois College of Medicine and a core faculty member of the Center for Global Health at UIC where she also serves as the liaison between the community and the translational oncology program to increase minority patients’ representation in clinical trials conducted at UIC by partnering with community-based organizations. Her research work centers on addressing multilevel barriers to increasing clinical trial participation with the use of implementation science tools. Her work also involves clinical trial diversity in clinical trials conducted globally.
