The first full week of December is recognized as “Cancer Screen Week” to promote recommended screenings for the prevention and early detection of cancer.
As part of this public health initiative, the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University, the University of Chicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center and the University of Illinois Cancer Center have joined together to host a free webinar on December 8 open to the public.
Experts at each of the cancer centers will share information on breast, prostate and colorectal cancer screening guidelines so you can plan for yourself and your family by learning when and how to get screened. Disparities in those three cancers are prevalent in Chicago.
All community members, patient navigators, community health workers, patient advocacy groups, caregivers and health professionals are encouraged to attend.
