Abstract: For this talk, I have prepared three topics based on our recent publications: (1) Bayesian modeling to estimate hospitalization risk for COVID-19 patients with comorbidities, (2) A microbiome taxonomic classification method based on Bayes theorem and bootstrapping, and (3) Predicting clinical outcomes of metastatic melanoma patients based on the commensal microbiome using a Bayes’ classifier. Given the time constraint, I will let the audience select two of those topics at the beginning of the seminar. The objective of this talk is to encourage wider usage of Bayesian statistics in biomedical research.
The meeting agenda includes a presentation, programmatic announcements, and updates from Cancer Center program leaders.
This group meets once a month from noon – 1 p.m.
