Darrell Gray, II, MD, MPH, FACG is an associate professor of medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (GHN) at The Ohio State University (OSU) College of Medicine. Additionally, he serves as Director of Community Engagement and Equity in Digestive Health for GHN, Deputy Director of the Center for Cancer Health Equity for OSU Comprehensive Cancer Center, and Medical Director of Healthy Communities for OSU Wexner Medical Center.

His work leverages meaningful partnerships across public and private sectors to address health disparities among diverse and vulnerable populations across the state of Ohio.  As one example, on a local level, Dr. Gray leads the Provider and Community Engagement (PACE) Program for Health Equity in Colorectal Cancer Prevention, a nationally recognized initiative aimed at improving colorectal cancer screening rates. At a national level, he serves on the National Colorectal Cancer Roundtable (NCCRT) Strategic Planning Advisory Group in directing initiatives and resources to achieve 80% screening in every community.

He has received numerous honors for his work including induction into the 2017 class of the National Minority Quality Forum 40 Under 40 Leaders in Health, a NCCRT National Achievement Award, and multiple American College of Gastroenterology SCOPY Awards, to name a few. However, Dr. Gray believes his greatest achievements are being a husband to wife, Brittney, and father to children Harper (5), Ella (3), and Noah (11 months).

Dr. Gray is a native of Baltimore, Maryland and graduate of Morehouse College and Howard University College of Medicine. He completed his residency at Duke University Medical Center, Gastroenterology fellowship at Washington University, and public health training at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
