The University of Illinois Cancer Center hosted “More than Pink: An Evening with Survivors” so others could learn about the journeys of breast cancer survivors and hear from experts in the field working to improve breast cancer outcomes.
The event also was a celebration of “The Breast is Yet to Come: The Ultimate Testimony,” a book that tells the stories of 12 women, collectively known as The Butterflies, who describe their personal journeys with cancer. The book was co-edited by Cancer Center Community Advisory Board Co-Chair Joanne Glenn, RN, MBA.
The Butterflies read excerpts from the book at this special March 21 event held at the Healthy Lifestyle Hub: Bears Community Room and Teaching Kitchen in Chicago.
