The Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) “Healthy Chicago” podcast featured University of Illinois Cancer Center Associate Director for Community Outreach and Engagement Yamile Molina, PhD, on an episode in Spanish talking about a variety of breast cancer topics.
Molina joined CDPH’s Geraldine Luna, MD, on the October 24 podcast to discuss what breast cancer is, the myths surrounding screening, the role genetics play, the importance of knowing one’s family health history and the free resources available at UI Health for screening and early detection.
Although Breast Cancer Awareness Month has ended, it’s important to continue sharing resources for accessible breast health care and encouraging individuals to stay up to date with breast cancer screenings year-round.
