Three University of Illinois Cancer Center members were elected to group leadership positions at the Big Ten Cancer Research Consortium.
Pritesh Patel, MD, associate professor at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, will serve as co-chair of the Consortium’s Multiple Myeloma Clinical Trial Working Group (CTWG), working alongside Natalie Callander, MD, University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center.
Kent Hoskins, MD, associate professor of medicine in the Division of Hematology/Oncology in the College of Medicine, was elected as co-chair of the Consortium’s Breast Cancer CTWG, working alongside Kari Wisinkski, MD, University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center.
Irum Khan, MD, assistant professor of clinical medicine, was elected to serve as co-chair of the Myeloid Malignancies CTWG, joining Brian Lee Parkin, MD, University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center, and Vijaya Bhatt, MBBS, Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center, University of Nebraska, as group leaders.
Hoskins, Khan and Patel will serve two-year terms.
