WVON: Cancer Survivorship Month

You can still listen to the WVON “Dr. in the House with Dr. Terry Mason” show about cancer survivorship. June is National Cancer Survivor Month.

Special guests on the show were Advocates for Community Wellness leaders Dale Cain, Founder and Executive Director, and Regina Hopkins, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, Director of Health Education and Program Manager.

Cain is a professional nutrition specialist and certified plant-based nutrition cooking coach with more than 20 years experience in the health promotion industry. She has worked with community nutrition education programs for more than 16 years, and she is dedicated to promoting health literacy education, wellness and fitness through nutrition education and hands-on cooking classes for individuals and families. 

Hopkins is a Family Nurse Practitioner, and has worked in the medical field for over 16 years. Her areas of expertise include family medicine, cancer awareness education, diabetes education, heart disease and chronic disease management. She works diligently to promote health education and disease management for families in underserved communities.

The three discussed health equity, nutrition, community outreach, cancer survivorship and more.
