Volunteers at Taste of Hope

The University of Illinois Cancer Center and the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) chapter of Colleges Against Cancer volunteered at the American Cancer Society‘s (ACS) Taste of Hope, an annual event bringing together award-winning chefs and Chicago foodies to celebrate progress in the prevention and treatment of cancer. ACS raised almost $746,000 at the event.

The volunteers included four Cancer Center Illinois Cancer Health Equity Research (I-CHER) Center staff and five undergraduates from Colleges Against Cancer. The I-CHER Center is made possible with funding from the ACS and support from the Cancer Center.

The volunteers greeted participants, supported food stations and sold raffle tickets at the November event held on Chicago’s Navy Pier.
