The University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) 2024 Lincoln Academy Student Laureate is Monica Padilla, a double-major in public health and biological sciences, member of UIC’s Honors College, and Research Assistant at the University of Illinois Cancer Center.
The award is given to seniors – just one from each college in Illinois – who have followed in the path of former President Abraham Lincoln by committing themselves to leadership and positive social change.
At the Cancer Center, Padilla, a premedical student, works with Associate Director for Community Outreach and Engagement (COE) Yamilé Molina, PhD.
