For Researchers & Providers

The University of Illinois Cancer Center employs a healthy community of faculty and clinicians committed to understanding the behavior of cancer.

The research we do is translated into the latest screening, prevention and treatment tools, often based on genetic or environmental information that enables a personalized approach to medicine. Likewise, we strive to provide our many dedicated health care providers the foundation they need to facilitate participation in clinical trials, seminars and cross-disciplinary collaboration.  To accommodate this, our Cancer Center is organized into four thematic research programs:

CANCER BIOLOGY

CANCER TARGETS AND THERAPEUTICS

CARCINOGENESIS AND CHEMOPREVENTION

POPULATION HEALTH, BEHAVIOR AND OUTCOMES

These programs envelop the research and clinical strengths of over 250 faculty members, from 11 different colleges and across four campuses, within the University of Illinois.  Our Cancer Center proudly reflects an environment of collaboration between our colleges and campuses, which enhances the research we are doing, via exploring routes to cancer that would otherwise not be taken.
