More than 70 people attended the University of Illinois Cancer Center's Winter Partnership Social to celebrate collaboration and all that we’ve accomplished this year alongside our community partners, whose vital work is crucial to our shared mission of eliminating cancer health inequities and improving cancer outcomes for all.

The Cancer Center’s Community Engagement and Health Equity Office hosted the event, which provided an opportunity for Cancer Center Director Jan Kitajewski, PhD, other leadership, scientists, Community Advisory Board members and community partners to mingle, share a meal, and look ahead to another year of partnership and purpose.

The holiday-themed event on December 11 was held in a Chicago Park District facility, the beautiful Columbus Park Refectory building, a landmark showcasing Spanish-influenced architecture, arched entryways, ornate terra cotta details and three porticos.
