When Donald Barge (pictured center) woke up in severe pain in the middle of the night, he asked his wife to take him to UI Health, where he was admitted to the hospital and, several days later, diagnosed with colorectal cancer.
At UI Health, his cancer team included University of Illinois Cancer Center member Shikha Jain, MD, a medical oncologist (pictured right), and surgical oncologist Elise Bianchi, MD (pictured left). The Cancer Center is part of UI Health, the academic health system at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC).
