Tea Time Conversations

The University of Illinois Cancer Center again hosted its “Tea Time Conversations,” a small-group opportunity for early-stage investigators to discuss career pathways with Cancer Center leadership, share experiences and offer feedback on what they need.

The group, which included six early-stage investigators, discussed funding resources and mentorship opportunities with Cancer Center conversation leaders, Associate Director for Faculty Development and Leadership Heather Prendergast, MD, MS, MPH, Deputy Director VK Gadi, MD, PhD and Cancer Research Training and Education Coordination (CRTEC) Director Beverly Chukwudozie, MBA, MPH.
At the September 9 event, the Cancer Center reiterated its commitment to supporting and providing a community for early-career faculty.
Another “Tea Time” event is planned for Spring 2026.
