University of Illinois Cancer Center Associate Director for Shared Resources Donald Vander Griend, PhD, was featured on the popular podcast Prostate Cancer: Real Talk, with hosts El and Shay. A co-leader of the Prostate Cancer Working Group at the Cancer Center, Vander Griend was featured in a two-part episode entitled “Prostate Cancer Research and Clinical Trials – What You Should Know.”

During the podcast, Vander Griend, an Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at UIC, spoke about how clinical trials work and the importance of participating in them. His research to prevent and treat prostate cancer is also personal because his father and father-in-law are both prostate cancer survivors.

Hosts El and Shay are a married couple who have experienced how prostate cancer has affected their lives, and they offer guidance, hope, and fellowship on their podcast to others touched by the disease.
