Champions in Oncology Award

During the Best of ASCO Chicago 2025, University of Illinois Cancer Center member Paul Rubinstein, MD, was selected for the inaugural Champions in Oncology Award, recognizing tireless advocacy for research and clinical care in cancer.

Rubinstein, who cares for patients at UI Health, was selected from among nominees in the Midwest and presented with the award at the two-day Best of ASCO Chicago, held on August 9-10. His clinical focus is on treating hematological malignancies, and his research interests include new therapies for HIV/AIDS-associated hematological malignancies and non-HIV-associated lymphomas. He is part of the Cancer Center's Translational Oncology Research Program. 

Best of ASCO Chicago is an official annual meeting review of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), designed to provide the latest science and education from the world’s premier oncology event, the ASCO Annual Meeting.
