ACS Discovery Ball

University of Illinois Cancer Center staff and members of the Colleges Against Cancer chapter at
the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) volunteered at the American Cancer Society (ACS)
Discovery Ball on February 28 in Chicago.
A major ACS fundraiser, the event brought in more than $1.8 million. Since 2007, the Discovery Ball has raised more than $44 million, money that helps to advance groundbreaking cancer research, patient care and caregiver support.
The group of nine volunteers helped with registration, assisted at the photo station, and supported ballroom activities, including seating and the live auction.
The Cancer Center is part of UIC and its academic health system, UI Health.
