ABC 7 Features Nguyen on Skin Cancer

May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month, and University of Illinois Cancer Center member Ryan Nguyen, DO, was featured on ABC 7 Chicago discussing skin cancer and how to prevent it, since anyone with skin is at risk.
Nguyen, a UI Health oncologist specializing in melanoma and lung cancer, shared details about the American Cancer Society’s skin cancer prevention awareness campaign, which uses the slogan "Slip! Slop! Slap! And Wrap.”
Skin cancer is the most common cancer, and the campaign reminds people about ways to protect themselves from UV radiation: slip on a shirt, slop on sunscreen, slap on a hat, and wrap on sunglasses to protect your eyes and the sensitive skin around them.
The Cancer Center is part of the University of Illinois Chicago and its academic health enterprise, UI Health. Nguyen is a member of the Cancer Prevention and Control Research Program at the Cancer Center.
