New Research Program Co-Leader

Surgical oncologist Aslam Ejaz, MD, MPH, a member of the University of Illinois Cancer Center Translational Oncology (TO) Research Program, has been named a program co-leader.

The TO Program brings together teams of investigators who conduct research along the translational continuum, ranging from mechanistic studies, validation of therapeutic targets and disease biomarkers for cancer therapy and chemoprevention to clinical trials that explore opportunities for personalized medicine.
Ejaz is Chief of the Surgical Oncology Program at UI Health, and he specializes in the treatment of pancreatic cancer, liver cancer, bile duct cancer and other gastrointestinal cancers. UI Health is UIC’s academic health system, which includes the Cancer Center.
