Dr. Ying Hu

Dr. Ying Liu is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her training is in the areas of nanophotonics, fluorescence microscopy, and immunology. The primary focus of  research is the development of advanced single-molecule and superresolution fluorescence imaging techniques to elucidate the spatiotemporal interactions of biomolecules and their functional output. I take a multidisciplinary approach, including advanced fluorescence microscopy and spectroscopy, novel labeling reagents, nanotechnology, and efficient computational modeling to break the technical barrier of traditional imaging methods. My long-term career objective aims at combining multiscale and multimodal imaging with single-cell “omics” techniques to provide innovative health solutions.
