Yang Dai, PhD, is Professor in the Richard and Loan Hill Department of Biomedical Engineering in the UIC Colleges of Medicine and Engineering. She is experienced in methodology development in bioinformatics using approaches of machine learning (including deep learning) and statistical modeling. She also has substantial expertise in integrating omics data for disease prediction and inferring regulatory mechanisms. She has a broad interest in machine learning, data mining, and optimization. Her research interests include developing computational models for integrating omics data for understanding biological mechanisms and for biomarker detection.
