Takeshi Shimamura, PhD, MS, is Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at UIC. The Shimamura Lab focuses on the forefront of translational lung cancer research, utilizing high-quality in vitro and in vivo models to evaluate novel therapeutics. The objectives of his lab are to provide dynamic research opportunities for aspiring lung cancer researchers; conduct translational basic science research projects that address the needs of patients with lung cancer; and collaborate with researchers from various academic disciplines and industry to explore innovative strategies for assessing lung cancer and developing cutting-edge therapies.
